comScore announces 7-year anniversary show

The press release for next month's anniversary party sums up the occasion nicely: "In internet years, 7 is a long time." What started as a one-off review by founder David de Young back in 2002 has now blossomed into one of the Twin Cities' best catalogs of live reviews, written by up-and-coming writers who are given free range to hone their skills on the site. Of course I am personally biased, given the fact that I used to pen reviews for HowWasTheShow and served as editor there before moving over to City Pages, but of all of the blogs and flash-in-the-pan review sites that have come and gone over the years, HowWasTheShow has remained one of the most steadfast contributions to our local scene, and the fact that it is hitting the 7-year mark this year is cause for celebration.

This year's anniversary show features instrumental cover band Big Trouble (members of Heiruspecs and a few surprise vocalists), Communist Daughter (former members of Friends Like These), City Pages' "Best Vocalist" winner Aby Wolf, and indie pop band the Inwood Radio. The party will take place Friday, June 12 at the Turf Club. (21+. 9 p.m. $6.)
