Howler, Big Quarters, Buildings drop new music videos

Minnesota artists are releasing music videos at such a fast clip these days that we can barely keep up with posting the best ones. Just yesterday, three separate videos from Twin Cities artists were lighting up our Twitter feeds and Facebook pages, and one was even debuted by Rolling Stone magazine's blog.

Here's a quick rundown of the newest local videos:

Though they've been busy touring and making a name for themselves in the U.K., Minneapolis sensations

shot their entire video in their hometown. "Back of Your Neck" is a track off their forthcoming Rough Trade full-length debut,

America Give Up

. Rolling Stone magazine debuted the video yesterday, which features footage of the band playing at First Avenue (where they recently opened for tUnE-yArDs).

Buildings make aggressive, scuzzy rock 'n' roll, so it's appropriate that their new video filmed by Northern Outpost is raw, sweaty, and jagged, capturing the band from various close-up angles while they pummel through "Rainboat." The band is performing a release show for their  new album, Melt Cry Release, this Saturday at the Hexagon, and you can read a recent City Pages interview with them here.

Big Quarters also have a new album out this week, and Dan Huiting and MPLS.TV seized the opportunity to create a new video with the duo. For their City of Music appearance, they brought along talented vocalist Mankwe Ndosi, who really propels the song forward with her hook. Big Quarters play a CD-release show this Friday at the Triple Rock, and you can read our interview with them here.
