Hey everybody: Three-night dance party at Prince's place!

Did somebody say "three-day international dance party" at Paisley Park? Yup — Prince!

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the doors at Paisley Park — the Purple One's hallowed studio/venue in Chanhassen — will swing open to celebrate Prince's new album HitnRun, due out Monday. The weekend-long rager is “presented by Tidal,” Jay Z's music-streaming service that snared exclusive dibs on HitnRun
— Prince3EG (@Prince3EG) September 2, 2015 So, what can you expect for your $40 nightly entry fee? Tunes spun by DJ Kiss (like the song!), live music (probably from 3RDEYEGIRL, possibly from Prince), food and beverage (don't expect booze), and "advanced listening" (can you guess which album?). The Labor Day weekend merrymaking kicks off each night at 9:30 p.m.

The tweet announcing the Paisley party (above) links to a Medium feature on Joshua Welton, Prince's new 25-year-old muse/keyboardist (he's also married to 3EG drummer Hannah Welton.) In it, writer Smokey D. Fontaine gets inside access — as did the New York Post — to talk up Welton. The piece is very puffy, but some interesting takeaways emerged:
  • Prince digs Kanye West, Jill Scott, and Kendrick Lamar ("He just has something he has to say. It’s pure," he says of Kendrick)
  • Prince is still obsessed with youth ("Can you imagine what would happen if young people were free to create whatever they wanted? Can you imagine what that would sound like?”)
  • Prince is sold on the Tidal business model ("Jay Z and I did a deal in 90 days. He gets it. And there’s no matrix ...")
  • Prince doesn't understand why people would love to see the Revolution reunite ("You know people always ask me… ‘Why don’t I get the Revolution back together?’ But, I mean…for what?”
Update: Looks like GRRRL PRTY will be performing on Friday
