Paste Magazine has a definite crush on Minnesota right now. They recently published a highly complimentary article, "12 Minnesota Bands You Should Listen to Now", which sings the praises of a talented bunch of area bands who deserve more national attention and exposure, adding to the magazine's continued focus on local groups likes Poliça, Now, Now, Dessa, Jeremy Messersmith, and others.

And now, the respected music, film, and culture publication has partnered with Aloft Hotels, and is sponsoring a free show by one of the 12 gifted Minnesota artists they featured prominently in the article, Haley Bonar, at Aloft Minneapolis this week.

As part of Paste's Live at Aloft Hotels Spotlight Sessions Midwest Tour, they are putting on a free full-band Haley Bonar show at the W XYZ Bar at Aloft Minneapolis on Thursday, August 8.

Admittance is free, as long as you sign up to attend, but your RSVP does not guarantee admission if the show has reached capacity. The event begins at 6 p.m., with music scheduled to start by 6:30.

Paste is promoting the performances as being "intimate acoustic sessions and interviews with emerging artists," so for those area fans who would like to know more about Haley and hear her play in a small, private setting, this show is certainly for you.

Bonar joins an impressive list of emerging artists who participated in this series throughout the rest of the country earlier this summer, like Scott Tournet, Matrimony, Futurebirds, and Ezra Furman. And the Lighthouse & the Whaler, California Wives, and Vic + Gab are all set to play at various Aloft Hotels in the Midwest leading up to Haley's show on Thursday.
