GRRRL PRTY announces Icehouse residency

After the success of the Marijuana Deathsquads and Totally Gross National Product residencies at Icehouse over the past few months, we now have word that there will be a GRRRL PRTY Wednesday night residency at the stylish Nicollet Avenue nightclub over the coming months. The evenings will feature performances from GRRRL PRTY themselves (comprised of the Chalice's Sophia Eris and Lizzo along with Machita), as well as some special musical guests who will be dropping in to add to the nights festivities.

GRRRL PRTY represent "a celebration of feminity and unsheathed swagger," and these sure-to-be spirited live performances should go a long way towards reinforcing those self-assured artistic aims. The crew have a forthcoming album they are in the process of finishing up, which features production from 2% Muck, Last Triumph, Red Velvet Beats, and more.

The initial GRRRL PRTY Icehouse residency will be on Wednesday, September 11, with a strong live lineup featuring Black Blondie, Aby Wolf: Wolf Lords with Young Baby, and, of course, the GRRRL PRTY crew as well. Tickets for that 21+ show are $6, with doors for the event at 9 p.m., and showtime getting going at 9:30.

The second planned residency is set for Wednesday, October 9, with GRRRL PRTY bringing along BdotCroc, the Lioness, and Psalm One for their big night. Again, the show is 21+, with doors at 9 p.m. and showtime at 9:30, with tickets a mere $6.

Hopefully, there are more GRRRL PRTY nights in the works for later in the year, with the crew planning on bring some musical heat to Icehouse as the colder months settle in over Minneapolis.

And, just in case you were worried about the status of TGNP's Last Wednesdays residency at Icehouse, The Cloak Ox have been tapped as the headliners for the August installment, with more acts to be announced shortly, along with a guest DJ to curate the between-set music. That show is set for Wednesday, August 28.
