Gary Louris and friends playing in Wabasha tomorrow
Gary Louris is playing a show in Wabasha, Minnesota tomorrow night (about an hour and a half out of the Twin Cities), and it's turning out to be quite the Jayhawks-centric shindig. Louris originally booked the show as a way to practice a few newer songs he wrote over the winter, but after playing a show in New York last week with some of his old buds, this weekend's show started to snowball into a more collaborative event.
The show, which takes place at the Broadway Theater in Wabasha, will feature Louris backed by Jayhawks Tim O'Reagan and Marc Perlman, frequent collaborator and omnipresent local vocalist Janey Winterbower, and former Son Volt bassist Jim Boquist. The night will be hosted by Brandon Sampson & Barry Nelson of Six Mile Grove.
Word of the show has started to spread on Jayhawks fan sites, so if you're planning to make the trek down on Saturday it's a good idea to buy advance tickets online. $15/$18 at the door. 6 p.m. doors.
