It's a good week for free stuff, especially if you are into music. We've got free shows for Dearling Physique, Bouncer Fighter, and Chickadee Mountain Martyrs; free art shows; and so much more.

Illo. Minn: Volume Two

The opening party was this Thursday, but if you haven't seen the show you should check it out. It features 28 working Minnesota illustrators. Each artist has two pieces in the show, including their own take on the Munny doll.

Bouncer Fighter CD-Release Show

Speaking of soothing music, this thrash band will be releasing a CD tonight. They also have a song titled "Uppity Butterflies." Thank god. It's about time someone said something about those butterflies. With Children of Euler. 9 p.m.

Check out this chill lounge located at the old Jitters space. Tonight there will be indie rock and hip hop, plus DJ Jaive. 9:30 p.m.

This band has seven members (yes, you read that right) and play experimental rock. 10 p.m.

SATURDAY:

New Land of Milk and Honey

Check out this super cool, super hippy show featuring collaborative work exploring communal living, with fashion designer Annie Larson, installation artist Brett Smith, and his sister Erin Smith, whose interests include interior design and jewelry (the siblings also create together as Sisbro Design). The opening reception is this Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and will feature a performance and presentation at 8 p.m. from the artists, as well as work by video artist Adrian Freeman and his wife Annemarie Freeman.

This show explores themes surrounding books that have been banned, censored, and destroyed. Saturday several of the artists will discuss their work at 1 p.m.
