Prince died suddenly early Thursday, and First Avenue plans to honor the otherworldly, Minnesota-born talent with a free all-night dance party.
The 18-plus event begins at 11 p.m., and First Ave received a special exemption from the city of Minneapolis to stay open past bar close.
DJs Mike 2600, DJ Jake Rudh, and DJ Espada will spin Prince tracks at the Minneapolis venue the Purple One made internationally famous with 1984's iconic film/album, Purple Rain.
There's really not better way to pay tribute to the musical treasure born Prince Rogers Nelson. Expect the dance floor to get misty-eyed when "Sometimes It Snows In April" hits.
