Flyer of the Week: Young Brides
Formerly known as Little Sister, local three-piece Young Brides are releasing their first full-length album Friday night at the Uptown Bar. "Our album features current and ex-members of such diverse Minneapolis acts as Solid Gold, the Umbrella Sequence, Tora! Tora! Torrance!, and the Spaghetti Western String Co.," says bassist Travis Even, and the result is what you might expect from a combination of those forces: indie pop melodies layered over angular guitar parts, percussive piano and synth rhythms, and frenetic drumming. Good stuff.
Check out a couple tracks on their MySpace page, and peep the flyer below for details on their release show. Design by Chad Verrill and Travis Even.
