The unparalleled genius of Elvis Costello will hit stages across North America this June. For the first time in 15 years, the versatile songwriter will be traveling light as he delivers 10 dates in the Midwest and surrounding cities.

Launching with an early-June stop at the O'Shaughnessy Auditorium on the St. Catherine University campus, Costello's tour is expected to provide a career-spanning set that probes the most popular and most obscure moments of more than 30 years in the rock 'n' roll limelight.

Costello's St. Paul date at O'Shaughnessy is Monday, June 9. Ticket sales begin on Friday, March 28.

Here's one from last year's Wise Up Ghost, featuring the Roots.

With all of his collaborations in recent years -- the Roots, Burt Bacharach, Allen Toussaint, etc. -- it'd be easy to forget that the man born Declan MacManus 59 years years ago can be mighty commanding on his own. During a Minneapolis date in the late '90s, he even challenged a heckler who wanted to hear some "angrier" cuts to a fistfight.

Here are the dates:

6/9 St. Paul, MN - O’Shaughnessy

6/10 Milwaukee, WI – Riverside Theatre

6/11 Chicago, IL – Copernicus Center (on-sale April 5th)

6/13 Ann Arbor, MI – Michigan Theater

6/14 Toronto, ON – Massey Hall

6/16 Cleveland, OH – Palace

6/17 Louisville, KY – Palace

6/19 Atlanta, GA – Cobb Energy Centre

6/20 Knoxville, TN – Tennessee Theatre

6/21 Nashville, TN – Ryman Auditorium
