Ellen DeGeneres: Bon Iver is one of the most brilliant bands
The rise of our folk-rock neighbor Bon Iver continues with a milestone that many of the most successful bands never touch: Daytime television.
Yes, today marks Justin Vernon and his band's appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and for the Grammy-winners, this comes with no shortage of praise from the former American Idol judge. As she gripped a copy of last year's self-titled album she said: "Rolling Stone called our next guests 'one of the most brilliant bands in music,' and I agree."
The fellas, some of whom recently got together with producer Ryan Olson (Gayngs, Polica) and rapper Astronautalis to record a mystery project, played two tunes during the visit, "Towers" and Michicant," and they are available for streaming below.
Even as recently as April 10, people were still asking "Who is Bon Iver?
" and this appearance may prove to be an answer for plenty of them. We'll be looking for the "DeGeneres bump" next week.
