The rise of our folk-rock neighbor Bon Iver continues with a milestone that many of the most successful bands never touch: Daytime television.

Yes, today marks Justin Vernon and his band's appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and for the Grammy-winners, this comes with no shortage of praise from the former American Idol judge. As she gripped a copy of last year's self-titled album she said: "Rolling Stone called our next guests 'one of the most brilliant bands in music,' and I agree."

The fellas, some of whom recently got together with producer Ryan Olson (Gayngs, Polica) and rapper Astronautalis to record a mystery project, played two tunes during the visit, "Towers" and Michicant," and they are available for streaming below.

Even as recently as April 10, people were still asking " Who is Bon Iver? " and this appearance may prove to be an answer for plenty of them. We'll be looking for the "DeGeneres bump" next week.
