Dosh has had a new record brewing for a while now, and we're amped to hear that he's announced an official release show. The multi-talented looping maestro will release his latest record, Tommy, in early April with a hometown gig at the 7th St. Entry on April 9. The new record is named after Martin Dosh's close friend and former sound engineer Tom Cesario, who passed away unexpectedly almost exactly a year ago.
Some notes about the new record, from Dosh's website:
Some of the contributors on this album are: Ryan Franscecsoni, Chris Morrissey, Todd Sickafoose, Paul Niehaus, Paul Niehaus, Mike Sopko, Bryan Olson, Jeremy Ylvisaker, Andrew Bird, and Mike Lewis. In other words: a bunch of dudes who can play the crap out of instruments that Mr. Dosh cannot.
There are also a few drummers on the record: Freddy Votel, Derek Phillips, JT Bates, and Tim Glenn. The also play the crap out of some drums. There are a lot of drums on this recording.
There should be 10 songs, and it should be around 40 minutes long.
Dosh will play the Entry on Friday, April 9. 18+. $12. 9 p.m.
