Doomtree to release documentary, Team the Best Team DVD
From Team the Best Team.
Minneapolis rap group Doomtree will release a full-length documentary detailing their rise titled Team the Best Team on December 11. Just in time for the Blowout VIII shows at First Avenue, and definitely ahead of your holiday giving schedule.
This 70-minute film was directed by by Chris Hadland, who spent a whole year on the road with the crew of P.O.S, Dessa, Sims, Mike Mictlan, Cecil Otter, Lazerbeak, and Paper Tiger. The inner functioning (and dysfunctioning) of these long-time friends and performing partners is on epic display.
For the first time, Team the Best Team provides a real look at what happens before and after the show--in the van, backstage, and back home. Seven friends, partners, and musicians share their biggest year--the year of No Kings--with all the attendant thrills, scares, punch lines, rap snacks, losses, laughter, and regular unleaded. Members have babies, bad kidneys, good shows, bad days, broken fingers, and a long history together, living a life of high hopes and long odds.
This two disc DVD set contains a 70 minute feature full length documentary, plus hours of deleted scenes and bonus footage, and is now available for pre-order through the Doomtree Webstore. All orders will receive a special customized bag of Doomtree microwavable popcorn. Yep, you just read that.
Here's the teaser trailer, and a longer trailer is expected next week:
