Diablo Cody wants to Tara-fy you
Diablo Cody has been a busy bee since leaving our fair tundra for the sunny hills of Hollywood. The City Pages alum penned the horror flick Jennifer's Body while promoting the Oscar-winning Juno. She also wrote a pilot for Showtime, titled The United States of Tara, at the request of Steven Spielberg.
The show, a 30-minute sitcom/dramedy, stars Toni Collette as a mother afflicted with multiple personality disorder. It also stars John Corbett as her supportive husband, Brie Larson as her wild teenage daughter, Keir Gilchrist as her sweet-natured (and probably gay) son, and Rosemarie DeWitt as her irritable sister.
To check out the pilot, which focuses on how the family functions with a Mom who might be a stoner teen one day and a chain-smoking man named Buck the next, click here. Enter "tara" when it asks for a password.
The show airs Sunday, January 18th at 10 p.m. Diablo Cody will be "tweeting" on Twitter live during the broadcast. She states from her MySpace blog: "It'll be like Pop-Up Video only even lamer and more meta." The Twitter account is DiabloOnTara.
Also check out her most recent interview, where she expounds on poetry, potential limb-loss, and typing skills.
