Death Cab For Cutie, Avett Brothers highlight Des Moines' 80/35 Fest line-up

Des Moines' eclectic 80/35 Festival is now in it's fifth year, and continues to bring talented, compelling national and local acts to the two-day Iowa music fest. And while the outdoor music festival competition in the Twin Cities this summer will be greater than it's ever been, this year's strong initial 80/35 line-up would once again make the four-hour drive to Des Moines completely worthwhile to area music fans looking to get out of town and see some great music in July.

The Avett Brothers, Death Cab For Cutie, Dinosaur Jr., Fucked Up, Dan Deacon, and Leftover Salmon highlight this year's 80/35 Fest, which will be held at Western Gateway Park in downtown Des Moines on July 6 & 7.

Update: Atmosphere, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Night Moves, Now, Now, and 16 other acts have been added to the 80/35 lineup. Full festival listings and dates below.

Update: Set times have been announced.

Advance two-day tickets for the festival cost $65, while one-day tickets run $39, and both are currently on-sale now. On the day of show, tickets will be $45 per day. There will be more acts announced soon, with the total number of bands featured over the course of the two-day affair expected to reach almost 40.

Typically, nearly 30,000 music fans from all over the Midwest descend on Des Moines for 80/35, and this year shouldn't be any different, even with the extra competition from the upcoming Live Nation Festival in the Twin Cities, in addition to the annual Rock The Garden and Basilica Block Party events scheduled for this summer.

No matter which event(s) you decide to attend, it's nice to have plenty of outdoor festival options available for music fans. We've got to take advantage of the nice weather while we can, and what better way to celebrate the warmer months than with great music under the sweltering summer sky.
