Are youth hockey games in Edina, Minnesota, the new courtside at Madison Square Garden for entertainment-seeking celebs?
At least one sign points to "maybe."
Scene: Edina's Minnesota Made Ice Arena last Friday.
Tots skated. Adults sat. Nobody anticipated the presence of a certain country megastar at the tourney.
But those ho-hum expectations got blown the fuck up.
Take it away, arena concessions chief Brenda Biever.
“[Carrie Underwood] came to see one of her girlfriends’ sons play youth hockey,” Biever told the Star Tribune. “No one recognized her. She was in the stands and so I checked [with] one of my kids keeping score and was like, ‘Is that Carrie Underwood right there?’ and he was, ‘What?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’ Once I said it people started noticing and, of course, the hockey dads started noticing more than anybody. It was pretty funny.”
Underwood is currently on a whirlwind tour of the Midwest.
