Folks, it's Tuesday. And guess what? We've got not one, not three, but two major concert announcements to breathlessly report.

First up: Lizzo -- the Minnesota-launched, world-conquering pop/rap star -- is coming home for a New Year's Eve rager on December 31 at Myth in Maplewood. Brooke Candy and CupcakKe have opening duties, Sophia Eris will spin a late-night DJ set, and a "surprise guest" is TBA. Our money's on Manchita, since that'd make a one-off GRRRL PRTY reunion possible. Tickets ($45) go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via eTix and the venue box office.

Check out Lizzo's latest major-label single, "Truth Hurts," below. Come for the Old West barroom piano and chest-pumping charisma, stay for the Minnesota Vikings references.

Next and last up: Robert Plant -- the U.K.-launched rock 'n' roll icon behind Led Zeppelin -- made Minneapolis one of just 12 announced stops on his upcoming North American tour. Plant, 69, is set to rock the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis on February 22. Tickets ($79-$100) go on pre-sale 2 p.m. Thursday; the general sale begins 11 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster and the venue box office. Plant last played the Twin Cities in 2011.

This go-'round, the Golden God will be touring in support of his latest album, Carry Fire, due out October 13. "It's about intention," Plant said in a press release of Carry Fire, a collaboration with his backing band, the Sensational Space Shifters. "I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the trawl and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new."

Here's a taste of Chrissie Hynde-featuring single "Bluebirds Over the Mountain," which was originally a 1968 rockabilly jam by Ersel Hickey, and later a popular cover by Ritchie Valens and the Beach Boys.
