One of the many things that makes the Twin Cities music scene so great is the frequent creative collaborations that take place between the talented musicians in the area. These projects typically present fans with a different musical side of artists they have grown to love, while also pushing the creative boundaries for the performers themselves.
Commanders Handsome is a creative partnership between Zach Coulter of Solid Gold and Cecil Otter of Doomtree. The duo will be performing on Thursday nights throughout the month of February at the Loring Pasta Bar, as part of their new late night entertainment series, Loring Late.
Commanders Handsome will bring their self-described "beat heavy casual landscapes" to the Loring beginning on February 6. The duo will continue to perform every Thursday night throughout the month of February, winding up their residency on February 27.
Doors for each of these shows are at 9:30 p.m., and tickets for the 21+ events will be $5.
No word yet on whether or not this distinctive collaboration will generate any recorded material, but the idea of these two talented artists fusing their inventive sounds together in a live setting should generate plenty of excitement and interest throughout the local music scene.
To get a better idea what Commanders Handsome sound like before their residency, you can check out the duo's debut live performance this Saturday at the Varsity Theater when they open for John Newman.
