Coachella 2013 lineup (for real) is here!

The Coachella lineup is here. It's actually here! There have been ten tons of fakes, some quite convincing, and many of which had the Rolling Stones headlining. (West Coast Sound, however, broke the story that they would not appear.)

But never mind all that! The lineup is here, and the headliners are the Stone Roses and Blur the first night, Phoenix the second night, and Red Hot Chili Peppers the third night. Also, for the locals there is a special treat coming in the form of Bon Iver's Justin Vernon reviving the Shouting Matches, his side project with Peter Wolf Crier drummer Brian Moen and Megafaun's Phil Cook.

On first glance, it feels like a letdown, at least in the opinion of someone who would have loved a Daft Punk, Justin Timberlake, Rolling Stones headlining trio.

And, of course, no Smiths reunion, as is rumored every year -- though there is Johnny Marr. But the Stone Roses reunion will be an event, and any festival with New Order, Wu-Tang Clan, and Nick Cave can't be all bad. Oh, and Earl Sweatshirt!

The festival takes place in Indio, California over two weekends April 12-14 and April 19-21.

From the Coachella press release:

Festival passes for both weekends go on sale Tuesday, January 29th at 10 AM PST. Festival passes for Weekend 1 must be purchased with a shuttle pass or a car camping pass. New for 2013, the price you see is the price you pay -- prices reflect all fees included. Layaway is no longer an option for either weekend. Please visit for complete info.
