The Walkmen, as featured in the 10 Thousand Sounds illustrated map
Art by Ken Avidor
We decided to have a little bit of speculative fun with our 10 Thousand Sounds map, which is featured in this week's cover story. With the help of artist Ken Avidor, who won a 2013 SPJ Award for illustrations detailing "The Fall of Michele Bachmann," we get to show off this Saturday's festivities in all their expected glory.
As the grinning green fish shows above, this isn't just some ordinary portrayal of our day in the speculative sun. This map has a ton of "easter eggs" in it -- in addition to the food trucks, the beer trailer, and the bathrooms. Take a good luck at the whole map (posted below), and you have a chance to win 10 Thousand Sounds tickets!
