The Associated Press is reporting that Daniel Jorgensen, a former touring member of popular Minnesota synth-pop band Owl City, has been charged with criminal sexual contact and attempting to lure a 14-year-old girl for sex in Atlantic City, NJ, in 2013 while on tour with the band.

After committing sexual criminal contact on the beach, Jorgensen then tried to lure the girl into the Owl City tour bus and his hotel room for the "purpose of having sexual intercourse," according to the charges. A grand jury in Atlantic City indicted the 30-year-old Minneapolis resident Tuesday. Bail was set at $100,000; the charges could result in 5-10 years of prison time. Philly.com reports Jorgensen was dismissed from Owl City following the initial allegations of sexual misconduct.

If you Google Jorgensen's name or read the YouTube comments here, it seems rumors of sexual misconduct have bubbled for more than a year. Jezebel unearthed a deleted 2013 Tumblr post concerning the incident written by the apparent victim.

Owl City — mostly the solo vehicle of Owatonna native Adam Young — is currently on tour in support of their fifth album Mobile Orchestra, released last month. The band is scheduled to play the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis on October 17.
