Brother Ali added to Heiruspecs scholarship benefit at Central High tonight
Brother Ali has been hard at work on his next album and staying out of the limelight these days, but he will re-emerge to make a cameo tonight at the Central High School Foundation benefit show tonight spearheaded by Heiruspecs.
"Although members of Heiruspecs have worked with Brother Ali recently (Sean McPherson played all the bass on Us and DeVon Gray added keyboard to his recorded set) it hasn't been since 2003 that Brother Ali and Heiruspecs have done more than freestyle together on stage," the band wrote in a late-night missive, as they unveiled their special guest at midnight last night.
Tonight's bill already featured a fantastic local lineup, with Mayda and the Abstract Pack set to open for Heiruspecs at Central High's Auditorium. All of the proceeds from the show benefit the Central High School Foundation, which helps fund special programs and provide financial assistance to students at the school.
The show kicks off at 7 p.m. tonight and is $10 for students, $16 for general admission.
