Bon Iver's richly evocative, Grammy-winning album, Bon Iver, Bon Iver, was a bit of a divisive release in certain music circles. But no matter how you feel about the record, it's become quite clear that those poignant, stirring songs have found their way into the hearts of music fans everywhere.

But for those of you who felt the production could have been more understated, the brass should have been more restrained, or that the vocals were too prominent in the mix (or even that the songs would be better without any vocals at all), now you have your chance to tinker with the songs until your heart is content.

Bon Iver have just announced a remix contest partnership with Spotify and Indaba Music, where fans can download audio stems of each song on Bon Iver, Bon Iver, allowing them to transform each of the tracks into entirely different sonic creations of their own.

The winner will receive $1,000 for each winning song, which will then be featured on the Spotify release of the band's forthcoming remix album. According to the description of the contest, "The best remix for each song will be selected by Bon Iver constituents in the end, assembled as a complete album and released exclusively on Spotify for the world to hear."

Bon Iver drummer S. Carey has wasted little time jumping into the remix fray, by releasing his mix of "Minnesota, WI" which Spotify users can check out here.

Also, the Roots drummer Questlove seems absolutely thrilled by the prospect of tinkering with these songs, specifically "Perth."

All in all, this is a great way to not only engage the worldwide audience who have grown so passionate about these songs, but this also gives fans a chance to make something new of their own in the process, while expanding the breadth of Bon Iver's music.

All remixes must be received by August 29, and voting will begin taking place next month.
