How and when did you get involved with music photography?
Just over six years ago, I started a job where I met a number of photographers, artists and musicians. One lazy Saturday, I decided to buy a camera and started bringing it to friend's shows.

What are some highlight moments of your professional photography experience?
A few highlights would be shooting Roger Waters "The Wall" and Nine Inch Nails at the Xcel along with Willie Nelson in Duluth. While I have photographed some of my favorite musicians of all time, the skills I have learned through music photography have paved the way to shooting soccer, rugby, roller derby, Red Bull Crashed Ice and rodeo. One of the coolest and exhilarating experiences I've had was shooting the Men's USA Rugby team in Pennsylvania vs the Maori All Blacks.

Where can people find your work (exhibits, album covers, publications, etc.)?
I have not had a gallery showing yet, though I am looking into it. I have had photos on CityPages print and website, print and website, Grantland, Cities97, USARugby, MN United FC, The Minnesota Swedish Institute, several band photos and several photos included in album art including the new Ari Herstand album.

What is your favorite part of music photography?
Capturing the mood, and moments of a performance, and sharing it. The people that I have met, friendships made and wonderful music discovered over the years are something I could not imagine being without. Being thanked for capturing a moment in someone's life that they tell me they will share with their children one day is extremely rewarding to say the least.

What dos/don'ts do you have for young photographers who would like to pursue this type of work?
Find and follow your passion, don't fear making mistakes and learn, ask questions. Meeting people and making connections is very important.
