Name: Mark N. Kartarik
City: St. Paul
How and when did you get involved with taking music photography?
At the beginning of last year I decided I wanted to attend more shows and I ended up bringing my camera along to some of them. I didn't start out thinking I was going to be a music photographer but now I guess I am and I think it's just great.
What are some highlight moments of your professional photography experience?
A picture my cat is on the cover of the Koo Koo Kanga Roo EP, Viral: Songs About Cats And Stuff. Being included in this list full of remarkable photographers I admire greatly.
Where can people find your work (exhibits, album covers, publications, etc.)?
My website, marknkartarik.com. City Pages.
What is your favorite part of music photography?
Seeing shows I necessarily wouldn't have been able to attend and meeting weird people.
What dos/don'ts do you have for young photographers who would like to pursue this type of work?
I'm still a pup myself, but I suppose I'd say be positive and just keep shooting if it's what you love to do. Good things will follow.
I hope to see you out at a show!
