itemprop

Babes in Toyland, currently on their first European tour of the new millennium, have announced a series of U.S. and Canadian tour dates at the end of the summer. After their local appearance at Rock the Garden on June 21, the reunited Minnesota grunge-punk trio will hit the road in all directions, stopping in St. Louis, Vancouver, New York, and Covington, Ky., along with several others.

The leaders of the 1990s riot grrrl movement reformed earlier this year for a set at the Roxy in Los Angeles. Prior to that, the band's last show was in 2001. Their last album, Nemesisters, was released way back in 1995. Reasons for the reunion, based on recent interviews, have included the trio of Kat Bjelland, Lori Barbero, and Maureen Herman missing one another, along with wanting to play live for a new generation of fans and for their children. That, and the fact that some serious Google money entered the equation.

Rock the Garden tickets are still available, and fans who want to travel can catch them at any of the stops below. Tickets go on sale for the tour Friday, May 29.
