Minneapolis musician Andrew Broder plays shows and records with some of the most talented artists in the area (most notably with 2011 Picked to Click winners, the Cloak Ox), but his experimental project Fog has been on hiatus since 2008.
Broder's creative fires are rekindling for a new Fog album, and is turning to Kickstarter to crowdfund the cost of recording, mixing, and mastering his forthcoming new work.

Broder's writing and demoing process has begun, and he has booked studio time at Justin Vernon's April Base Studio in Eau Claire for September with Grammy-winning producer Brian Joseph (Bon Iver, Bon Iver).
In addition to an advance digital download and LP versions of the forthcoming record as perks for contributing, some of the other cool gifts offered up for pledging support to Broder's worthy cause include: limited-edition screenprints by Burlesque Design, Fog T-shirts, downloads of demos and sketches for the new record, a handwritten thank-you note, membership in the Andrew Broder Music Club (which gives you digital copies of all self-released music by Broder for the next two years), a musicians' special that includes a unique remix of your own song by Broder himself, and all the way up to Broder painting a large mural on the interior or exterior wall of your choosing.
Broder's Kickstarter campaign is off to a good start already, with contributions being accepted until Tuesday, August 12. So if you want to hear new groundbreaking work from Fog, check out the Kickstarter page and give what you can.
