Amphetamine Reptile's Bash 13 lineup: Mudhoney, the Melvins, and more

What Grumpy's lacks in the quantity of shows they put on, they more than make up for in quality and sheer volume, as each unforgettable performance you see at the craggy downtown bar typically leaves your ears ringing for days.
With the announcement that Grumpy's will be hosting the upcoming Amphetamine Reptile Bash 13, that raucous trend will continue. Heavy-hitters Die Kreuzen, the Melvins, Negative Approach, and the grand local return of Mudhoney will certainly shake the ground and rattle the walls on Saturday, July 20, as the legendary label AmRep once again throws a party to celebrate some of the legendary bands that have helped make the record label and the modern music scene what it is today.

While the Melvins have frequently, and graciously, returned to rock the friendly confines of Grumpy's many different times over the years (playing AmRep's 25th Anniversary Bash in 2010 and returning to play the club on their own just last year), the big draw is obviously the Minneapolis return of Mudhoney, the celebrated grunge pioneers who just released their first album in five years, Vanishing Point, and (to the best of my recollection) haven't played Minneapolis in over 10 years.
The reappearance of Die Kreuzen, the renowned Milwaukee hardcore band, is also a major draw, with the group getting together within the past year for their first series of shows in over 20 years. The group was recently honored with an induction into the Wisconsin Area Music Industry Hall of Fame, and their rare appearance at AmRep's bash should not be missed.
The appearance of the Detroit hardcore punk outfit Negative Approach should also be a welcome, surprising inclusion for Twin Cities music fans, as the group paved the way for and influenced many Midwestern punk and hardcore acts over the years. Their inclusion guarantees that the Amphetamine Reptile Bash 13 will be the loudest, most intense music festival that the Twin Cities will be hosting this summer.
And as if that thunderous initial line-up isn't enough, more acts will be added as the festival approaches. Check out Grumpy's and AmRep's Facebook page for any updates, including forthcoming ticketing information (with the on-sale date expected later on this week).
