Adele postpones super sold-out First Avenue show

Adele has canceled her show at First Avenue tonight, just an hour and a half before the doors were scheduled to open. Adele's show had been causing quite a stir in the Twin Cities, both because of the outrageously high prices for scalped tickets to the show and because she currently has a #1 single and #1 album on the Billboard charts, a rare occurrence for a performer at a venue the size of First Ave.

[jump] Fans who showed up at the Depot to claim their will-call tickets are reporting that Adele was taken to the hospital to deal with "vocal issues," and First Ave says she is "very ill."

No word yet on rescheduling or how to obtain a refund, though the venue says they plan to announce a rescheduled date very soon.

UPDATE: The Adele show has been rescheduled for Wednesday, June 22 at First Avenue. All original tickets will be honored. Her publicist says she has laryngitis.
