Adam Levine mistakes Tim Mahoney for 'a chick' in promo for new NBC show 'The Voice'

Longtime Twin Cities singer and songwriter Tim Mahoney recently auditioned for a new talent show on NBC, The Voice, which features coaches and judges Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton -- and judging by the first promo spot for the show, Mahoney is going to be prominently featured in the show's debut episode, which airs April 26.

The show's gimmick is that the judges listen to the contestants with their backs turned, so they can focus on their singing ability and not, like, their potentially horrifying looks and grotesque normal-person features. When Levine swivels around to see Tim Mahoney standing in front of him, he laughs and says, "So it's gonna get a little weird for a second... I thought you were a chick."

It's not the most flattering way to enter the spotlight, but something tells us Mahoney will fare just fine on the show, as he's been tweeting up a storm about the show's debut. (Side note: Why does Mr. Mahoney end every single tweet and Facebook status update with the word "Cmon"? Is it code for something? What is he trying to tell us?)
