A Bratwurst By Any Other Name...
The nationally-known Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona has a plan to get even the staunchest Shakespeare hater into the theater: Offer them succulent grilled meat for free. The festival's fifth season is hosting its inaugural "Grill With Will" Skeptics Night this Saturday at 8 p.m.
In addition to being plied with brats, corn, and lemonade, hungry Bard bashers (and the theater fans that drag them to the theater) will get to take in a performance of The Taming of the Shrew. If you're still on the fence over whether to go or not, take in this trailer (RIP Heath Ledger) from Ten Things I Hate About You, the 1999 re-imagining of the 1590s play.
If you can get through this, you can no doubt survive the original version while stuffing yourself with good food. Find more information about the Great River Shakespeare Festival here.
