Along with 331 Club, 612Brew is another destination for a weekend of live local music held during the Art-A-Whirl weekend. The three-day lineup is an eclectic bill of hip-hop, electronica, indie rock, folk, and some stuff that falls somewhere in the middle coming to the space's outdoor amphitheater.
Among the performers are MaLLy, Big Jess, Step Rockets, Botzy, Lydia Hoglund of Bomba de Luz, Black Market Brass, the Fattenin' Frogs, and KPT. In addition to the musical portion of the weekend, 612Brew will have five food trucks, four featured visual artists, and plenty of its most popular beers.
612Brew is located near the intersection of Broadway and Central in northeast Minneapolis -- by the NE Spyhouse location -- and has a much-larger lineup than their first year hosting the Bash.
The 612Brew Art-A-Whirl Bash lineup:
Friday, May 16
Big Jess of Unknown Prophet
Black Market Brass
The Fattenin' Frogs
Saturday, May 17
Pony the Mustang
Jonny and the Palms
Sunday, May 18
Artists showcased will be 612Brew mural artist Adam Turman, beer poster artist Dogfish Media, jewelry designer Garden Weasel Creations and wood artist Turning Baron. Food trucks include AZ Canteen, Motley Crews and Cajun 2 Geaux -- hosting a full crawfish boil during the event. Two additional trucks will be added. The beers on tap are SIX, Rated R, Gateway Park, Zero Hour and Main Stage. Keep an eye out for special cask beers, as well.
