Southern Theater

1420 Washington Ave. S. Minneapolis, MN 55454 | Minneapolis (Downtown) | 612-340-1725

Location Description:

Among our great city’s older performance venues, the Southern Theater is a community-centric organization that typically presents local contemporary dance, theater, cabaret, and music. With exposed brick walls and a picturesque stage, it’s a charming venue for the Seven Corners area of Minneapolis on Washington Ave. Built in 1910 with roots in the local Scandinavian community, the Southern has undergone many changes in leadership and programming over the years, although it has functioned in it’s current status as a non-profit arts organization since 1981. In addition to their own programming, the facility is also available for bookings and weddings.
