This Loring Park hangout has an old soul, perhaps because it's operated by a few longtime restaurateurs and has some of the same arty vibe as the late, lamented New French and Loring cafes. While Doug and Jessica Anderson had success with neighborhood bistro fare at Bakery on Grand and fine dining at A Rebours, this restaurant's style is more difficult to pin down. Named after a New York institution called Nick and Eddie, the emphasis seems more about hospitality than a specific cuisine, since the menu is part French bistro, part middle-Europe deli, part mesquite-grilled American fare. Just be sure to save room for Jessica's amazing desserts.
