The best downtown happy-hour food is to be found in the bar here from 4:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon Mondays through Sundays and late night from 9:00 to 11:00 Mondays through Saturdays, for that's when $1.95 will get you a luscious pan of mussels, a full-size cheeseburger with fries, or a fish-taco plate of distinct stylishness. Factor in that the scratch-bar squeezes a mean greyhound, and the soda all comes in dear little bottles, and you're unlikely to want to drink after work anywhere else. Speaking of bars, the oyster bar here is another force to be reckoned with, particularly for those seeking bargain bivalves. Still, look further afield for your more formal dining concerns, for M&S's kitchen doesn't meet the quality of the bar.
