If you're meandering around the neighborhood of the Grand Ole Creamery, it's practically impossible not to be pulled in by the divine smell of fresh waffle cones from this family-owned gem. Still warm from the iron, thick and cakey, large and bountiful, one of these without ice cream could leave you content. Luckily, they are filled with a seemingly limitless supply of some of the best ice cream in the state--freshly made, buttery, and rich, with not a hint of chemical additives The ice cream here comes in a variety of textures, colors, and flavors--some classic, others more creative--and the hand-written list changes every week or so. From butter pecan with a twist of rum to chocolate packed with chunks of fresh raspberries to simple sweet cream or fruity banana, there's something here for the adventurous, the decadent, and the conservative. If the weather's above freezing (and sometimes even when it isn't) you'll generally find a line out the door, but it's worth the wait.
