Bedlam Theatre

2637 27th Avenue S. Minneapolis, MN 55406 | Seward/ Longfellow/ Minnehaha | 612-341-1038

Location Description:

Losing its Cedar-Riverside location didn’t stop the Bedlam Theatre. The group, a part of the local theater community for 20 years, continued on as one of a number of itinerant companies in the area, while always searching for a new base of operations. They’ve found that in the Lowertown neighborhood in St. Paul, with a space that promises to offer the same eclectic mix of performance, food, drink, and conversation as the original location. Led by founders John Francis Bueche and Maren Ward, Bedlam offers wildly creative theatrical pieces and collaborations throughout the Twin Cities, earning plenty of accolades and awards along the way. In fact, while losing a lease could spell doom for many theater companies, Bedlam survived with the support of its many fans. That innovation and creativity can be found in regular works like the annual 10-minute play festival or being a part of the Northern Spark events.
