There may be other summer events, but there is no better revelry than the Minnesota State Fair. The people watching, the food on a stick, and the pig ear hats are celebrations of all that is awesome about our state. Hundreds of signature tasty dishes are offered during this annual celebration from August to September, and the State Fair Grandstand is a favorite performance venue among big-time musical artists. Oh, and don't forget the classic carnival rides of the Midway or the 4H Club glory over in the animal barns. However, the state fairgrounds are open all year long. The grounds are home to antique sales, scrapbook expos, car shows, 5k runs -- even dog and horse expos. The fairgrounds are located in St. Paul off Snelling Avenue North.
