Perennial winners of awards from other publications, Kincaid's is a fish-and-chops chain restaurant of utterly mystifying popularity, famed for their rich crab cakes, crisply glazed salmon, and prime rib. The food is good, but the restaurant in its entirety is perhaps more interesting as an indicator of urban vs. suburban expectations: Those who regard Highway 62 as the Mason-Dixon line between civilization and chaos are likely to focus on the nice service, while their kids will tend to focus on the excellent Old Fashioneds muddled up at the downtown location, and the odd art out at the Bloomington branch.
