The Hiawatha Golf Club is located in south Minneapolis next to Lake Hiawatha. Hiawatha is an old course that is full of both character and numerous challenges, whose construction began back in 1929, with a classically-styled clubhouse that was built way back in 1932, providing golfers with nourishment and golf supplies for many decades now. Its 18-hole regulation golf course is a par 73, and features plenty of lengthy holes lined with mature trees which protect the rather small greens. Due to the course's proximity to both Lake Hiawatha and Minnehaha Creek, many of the holes are guarded by lots of water, and there are 30 sand traps placed strategically throughout the course. Hiawatha has won City Pages' Best Golf Course on a few different occasions, and the beloved, scenic South Minneapolis course is considered a wonderful challenge by both experts and novices alike.
