The Francis A. Gross Golf Course is a classic layout located near I-35W on St. Anthony Boulevard in Minneapolis. Gross National opened in 1925, eventually hosting the 1964 USGA National Publinks Championship, and the grand history of the course is palpable around every turn. The competitive course features gradually rolling hills and plenty of mature trees to challenge your accuracy and expertise. There are three sets of elevated tees that can match any golfer's skill levels, and the undulating greens are typically true and firm. Gross National does rent carts to those who request them, but it is a welcoming course to walk as well. The clubhouse has terrific dining and drinking options, so you can eat up before your round or at the turn. Gross is open 7 days a week from sunrise until sunset during the golf season, with plenty of leagues available for men, women, juniors, and seniors.
