Cocoa & Fig makes scones, brioche, and chocolate bouchons, macarons, carrot cake sandwich cookies, and quiche, but it's best known for its cupcakes, which are among the best in the Twin Cities. While the cupcake's cake is uniformly excellent, what truly distinguishes the sugary treats is their frosting, mounded up in Dairy Queen cone-style lobes as tall as their bases. The portion might be a little excessive, but we won't be the first to cry uncle. The Italian meringue buttercream is positively ethereal: silky and light as whipped butter.
