A family owned joint on St. Paul's West 7th Street, Bennett's Chop & Railhouse feels like a throwback to the golden days of supper clubs. The dim lighting, maroon booths, and round bar are the stuff of your parents' (and even grandparents') day -- when all you needed to kick back after a long day at the office was a stiff drink and a plate of red meat. (And maybe a cigarette, but then times have changed.) The drinks are suitably strong and the food is all-American, with classics like steak tips and a killer bacon cheeseburger that'll do more than help take the edge off.
