The Wolf of Walmart

The Wolf of Walmart

Any fears that Brave New Workshop would lose something essential in the 2011 move from its longtime and somewhat grungy digs Uptown to the new, far more slick downtown location have been calmed by the company's continued high quality. The troupe — whose history stretches back to founder Dudley Riggs in 1958 — continues to do what it has always done: poke fun at the foibles of politicians and the odd obsessions of consumers, and examine the everyday weirdness of life in Minnesota. The company's latest revue, The Wolf of Walmart, offers more of the same, with promises of a retail-store rap battle, cast-driven selfies, and more satire (including plenty of satirical songs) drawn from the modern age. The company features a veteran Brave New Workshop cast, including Lauren Anderson, Matt Erkel, Bobby Gardner, Tom Reed, and Taj Ruler.
