After taking a season off due to construction at Walker Art Center, Open Field returns this summer for fun and festivities on the museum's lawn. The field starts up during Northern Spark Festival, and will continue through mid-August, save taking a weekend off for Rock the Garden. Visitors will find a variety of happenings each day, including acoustic music played around a bonfire, recess-style games for adults, running clubs, drawing sessions, and other random and fun shenanigans. Feel like just hanging out on the lawn and doing your own thing? That works, too. At the Tool Shed, folks can pick up hula-hoops, sporting equipment, books, radios, and more for free during open hours. Other major events planned for Open Field include making an epic, large-scale salad with Joshua Selman, and the return of the massively popular Internet Cat Video Festival. Visit www.walkerart.org/openfield for a complete schedule of happenings or for info on how to host your event on the lawn.
