Internet Cat Video Film Festival

Internet Cat Video Film Festival

Jessica Armbruster

Three years ago, the Walker Art Center discovered that internet cats and public parties could be combined for a magical evening. After last year's field trip to the Minnesota State Fair, the Internet Cat Video Film Festival is returning to its home turf on the hill for an evening of kitty-cat love, activities, and more. Before the sun sets, folks can snack on treats from food trucks, cool off with some beer from the cash bar, and listen to live music from Jack Klatt and the Cat Singers. Artist Rudy Fig will be creating live art in her sweet-and-salty style, face painters will be making kids (and kids at heart) look purrrty, and the Drawing Club that evening will be feline-themed. At dusk, the screening begins, with films curated by Will Braden of Henri Le Chat Noir fame. Lil Bub, who is in town for a charity event, will also be taking the stage briefly as a sage star among the up-and-coming kittens. Before the night ends, the coveted Golden Kitty award will be given to this year's nominee with the most votes. Be sure to bring a blanket, as much of the Walker's lawn is covered in wood chips, and be sure to give your pet a hug before heading out tonight.
