If you've ridden the new Green Line lately, rather than driving to your destination, no doubt you've felt enveloped in and privy to a new sense of community. And that's not just among your fellow passengers on the train, or while looking out at the restaurants and stores you previously missed, but also while waiting along the tracks. The Minnesota Museum of American Art's new exhibition explores those experiences, and how public transportation connects us to people and places in new and revelatory ways. Showcasing commissioned work by local artists Xavier Tavera, Wing Young Huie with Ashley Hanson, and Katherine Turczan, the exhibition explores the temporary and the permanent through photography, storytelling, and performance. There will be an opening reception from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, August 21, and an artists' talk at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 13. (Pictured: Work by Xavier Tavera, Gilbert Marty)
