For its third edition of storefront displays, Made Here takes on the theme of light during these dark days of winter. Nearly 40 installations will feature the efforts of local artists as they interpret illumination in different ways. Among those participating is costume designer Sonya Berlovitz, most recently known for her work with the Moving Company, and macabre aficionado and provocateur Caitlin Karolczak. "Brilliance! Made Here" also includes a number of collaborations, such as Asia Ward working with Keith Braafladt, and Caitlin R. Warner with Karl Unnasch (both pieces can be seen at City Center). Light artist Brian Matthew Hart will be creating a work with George Wurtzel, Chuck Olsen, and Aaron Marx at Renaissance Square. Additionally, this round of Made Here exhibitions includes pieces resulting from a new program that pairs artist mentors Wing Young Huie, Jason Quaynor, Kirk Washington Jr., and Charles Fraser with teen groups. The public launch takes place Friday, November 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Meet at Marin Restaurant & Bar (901 Hennepin Ave. S., Minneapolis).
