For reasons I will never understand, the number of places around the city that offer wi-fi and beer are sparse. However, the ones that do are spectacular. Acadia Café is certainly an example of a great place where you can check your email, write a school paper, and talk politics with friends over a beer. And what an amazing beer list it is. Students in the area will presumably become spoiled as they get used to Acadia's impressive selection; the taps line the bar more or less from one end to the other. Stumped as to what to order? The handy menu not only lists beers by price (ranging from less than $4 to a hair over $9 for taps), but also includes useful info like the alcohol volume, as well as the flavors and nuances of each brew. You'll find local favorites like Surly and Summit, but also unusual selections from local, national, and international specialty brewers like Badger Hill, Great Lakes, and Maredsous. Happy hour runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, with a $1 off all pints, rail drinks, and glasses of wine, $4 off all pitchers and bottles of wine, and half-price appetizers. Show up a bit after happy hour ends, and you can still take advantage of a rotation of nightly beer specials Sunday through Thursday until last call.
