  • Flaherty's Arden Bowl

    1273 W. County Road E. St Paul, MN 55112
651-633-1777 Few bowling alleys in the metro are as homespun as Flaherty's in Arden Hills. It's been around in one form or another since 1938 and bills itself as the oldest family-owned bowling alley in America, now on its fourth generation. With 36 lanes and a giant pub inside -- it’s a great location for some good old family fun. The menu is large with your typical pub fare: pizzas, wings, and burgers, with breakfast served all day. There is a standard beer selection, boasting Summit, Grain Belt, and the like. There are various events throughout the week to jazz up your bowling experience with the possibility of winning prizes, and rinks. You can also partake in “Late Night Dollar Nights” Sunday through Thursday from 9:30pm to close, when it’s $1 bowling, $1 shoe rental and $1 tap beer and soda. More >>

  • Fort Snelling Golf Course

    Fort Snelling Golf Course

6399 Fort Snelling Ave. St. Paul, MN 55111
612-726-6222 Fort Snelling Golf Club is a nine-hole course located in St. Paul's historic Fort Snelling, which caters to average golfers looking to get in a quick nine. The course is easily accessible to both Minneapolis and St. Paul residents, and is located near the airport as well as the Mall of America for out-of-town visitors and tourists. The course itself, a par 35, is pretty uncomplicated, comprised of mostly par fours, with one testy par five and two delicate little par three's thrown in to test your mettle. The landscape is typically well-maintained, with plenty of views of the surrounding Fort Snelling park available at every turn. The amenities at the course are pretty basic, so come prepared with supplies and look elsewhere for food and beverage options. But as far as area nine-hole courses go, Fort Snelling provides a relaxed, leisurely layout that is perfect for both beginners and club pros looking to get in some quick holes. More >>

  • Francis A. Gross Golf Course

2201 St. Anthony Blvd. Minneapolis, MN 55418
612-789-2542 The Francis A. Gross Golf Course is a classic layout located near I-35W on St. Anthony Boulevard in Minneapolis. Gross National opened in 1925, eventually hosting the 1964 USGA National Publinks Championship, and the grand history of the course is palpable around every turn. The competitive course features gradually rolling hills and plenty of mature trees to challenge your accuracy and expertise. There are three sets of elevated tees that can match any golfer's skill levels, and the undulating greens are typically true and firm. Gross National does rent carts to those who request them, but it is a welcoming course to walk as well. The clubhouse has terrific dining and drinking options, so you can eat up before your round or at the turn. Gross is open 7 days a week from sunrise until sunset during the golf season, with plenty of leagues available for men, women, juniors, and seniors. More >>
